<dc:description>

The blog is operated by the European Space Agency as an unofficial source of information for the general public. It is updated by the ESA Web team with input from mission controllers, engineers, scientists and senior managers at ESA and our partners.

Click on for a brief self-introduction from our Rosetta Blog editors, Daniel Scuka and Amruta Mehta. Both are working on behalf of the Agency for EJR-Quartz BV.

Daniel Scuka, Sr Editor for Spacecraft Operations

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Daniel Scuka has worked as Web editor at ESOC, ESA's Space Operations Centre, in Darmstadt, Germany, since 2004. As part of the ESA Web portal team, he reports for the ESA Spacecraft Operations site and covers activities at ESOC and other ESA establishments.

He previously blogged for ESA for the Rosetta Earth Swing-by in November 2007, the Rosetta Steins fly-by in September 2008, the Columbus delivery mission in February 2008 and the ATV1 Jules Verne launch, docking and de-orbiting in March, April and September 2008.

For Rosetta's final Earth swing-by on 13 November 2009, he'll blog together with Amruta from ESOC.

Amruta joined EJR-Quartz BV in March 2007, and has since worked as web editor for ESA's Directorate of Science and Robotic Exploration. Originally from Mumbai, India, she moved to The Netherlands after completing a Master's degree in Space Management at the International Space University (ISU), Strasbourg, France.

She brings a wealth of mission science experience to the Rosetta Blog (... and her ESOC colleagues hope she'll bring those fabulous gourmet chocolates again!), and is looking forward to a great swing-by.
