VMC submission by Mike Malaska - 24 Hour Image Processing. To make the image, raw images No 8 and No 16 were processed through the rgb2png utility, then image No 8 was aligned and placed under image No 16. Contrast for No.8 was adjusted to match as well as a blending mask added. Then an overall curves layer was added, followed by a Channel mix layer, then Hue/Saturation was increased +50 and a second curves layer added. Known residual artifacts were clone stamped out. Then a copy was converted to grayscale using a B&W conversion layer, and this image HIPassed by 5 pixels and overlaid onto the Gaussian blurred color layer. Image Credit: Mike Malaska/ESA
