Hatch opening
04 April, 2008 13:32
Back from ATV-CC again. The air scrubber has been installed and is running... so the crew must have been inside ATV. The hatch will be closed again now whilst the scrubber does its job. Final hatch opening is scheduled for tomorrow morning at around 10:00 CEST (08:00 UT), although as always, that time is subject to change!

thinking ahead to when the ATV is sent to its destruction, will there be any camaras on board the ATV (on the outside) transmitting pictures of its (at least at the beginning) end?
BTW. great video footage yesterday (watched the docking at work).
regards
Tony

The comments are correct, there are no cameras on or in ATV-1. Perhaps that will change for ATV-2...

Inspired by Tony's question, are there any fixed cameras preinstalled in the ATV?

I think that there are no camera's on board of ATV, otherwise we could have seen some pictures of the ISS when Jules Verne makes his docking to it

What ATV has done was perfect.....
it's recalls to me the HERMES project, which was about a european shuttle project, mainly to be able to send a man to space .... and to make him return ..... maybe with this nice ATV demo show this may becomes true in a near future ? it would be great ;-)
