Demonstration Day 2
31 March, 2008 17:17
ATV has arrived at S3, 249 m away from the ISS. Jules Verne has just performed a slew manoeuvre to orient its docking port towards the ISS.
Next, the VDM (Videometer) will initialise and search for the optical reflectors (mirrors) on the Russian module. Once a reflection has been acquired, the VDM will calculate location data (relative range, rate of change, etc.). Then, ATV-CC will compare VDM-generated data to the data generated by relative GPS. Once the Videometer data has been confirmed, ATV will be permitted to continue towards S4. -- Daniel
